Living the Mission: Easter Eggstravaganza

On Saturday April 9th after much prayer and hard work, the Disciples In Action Bible Study class put their class verse [Acts 1:8] into action at Woodstock Park. Their goal was to “have the heart of Jesus and minister to the ONES.”

During the week leading up to the event, class members and youth canvassed neighborhoods and businesses near the park to invite people to attend. The night before, they prayer walked at Woodstock Park.

Many Bible Study classes and staff joined together to help with the Egg-stravaganza. “It was awesome to see God's people serving together using their time ministering to the Virginia Beach community; many seeds were planted through this event! We could not have done it without everyone helping! We had people tell us they were searching for a church and heard about this event at McDonald's the day before," said one class member.

Activities such as crafts, painting, games, balloons, an Easter egg hunt, and the resurrection egg presentation were available to all attendees. Everyone left with an invitation to visit First Baptist Church of Norfolk and an explanation of the real reason for Easter.
